CNN Newsstand is a popular store brand that operates under the Hudson Group. The store offers a wide range of items including newspapers, books, magazines, bottled water, snacks, and toiletries. Apart from CNN Newsstand, the group operates other stores in airports and transportation terminals.
RBT Electric was subcontracted by Sierra Construction Company, Inc to provide the electrical services required for the CNN Newsstand Terminal-A project. As the electrical subcontractor, we were responsible for remodeling the electrical system for the 1702 square feet retail space at John Wayne Airport, Ca.
As part of upgrading the electrical system, we installed a transformer, a panelboard, conduits, wiring and other electrical components as was specified in the plans. RBT Electric was required to complete the work in 14 days.
For this project, RBT Electric was required to reengineer the lighting system. As part of this work, we upgraded the lighting fixtures and lighting controls in different sections of the 1,702 sq. ft. retail space.
RBT Electric was also required to install telephone and data systems. As part of this work, we installed conduit, terminal boards, raceways, and other components as was specified in the drawings.
As the electrical subcontractor, RBT Electric was also required to supply power to various mechanical systems including water heaters, pumps, and HVAC equipment. As part of remodeling the retail space, we were also required to upgrade the security system.
With a team of electricians working on this project, RBT Electric completed the renovation work within the time specified in the contract.
